I published a post a couple of months ago on 2016’s top ten music producers. This fresh piece presents a list of beat makers who made the music scene more fun that year and who would do at least the same in 2017.
Super brilliant pianist and producer, Tspize, became popular when he birthed Davido’s smash hit song Aye in 2014. He slowed down a lil bit after Phyno’s Connect but returned late last year with the making of chart-topping Mad Over You which has recorded almost three million views on Youtube. The Connect maker is taking no chill as he starts the new year incredibly with the production of Sarkodie’s new, hot single ‘Pain Killer’.
It is a norm for revered music maker, Masterkraft, to midwife several hits every year. It is unexpected of and almost impossible for the magically fingered beatmaker not to pull the usual feat this year.
Ever since the drummer boy, Krizbeatz, made Diana for Tekno, he has been on his grind, making highly rhythmic hits from Lil Kesh’s Kojo to Sheyman’s Cover Me which were produced last year. He showed us his unrelenting, tireless spirit in January with Koker’s new hit single, Bokiniyen.
Young John has been incredibly consistent over the last three years. The magical beat maker, who won producer of the year at the 2016 Headies Awards, is the producer behind Olamide’s Afrobeat hit Konkobility and trending Pepper Dem Gang which is housed on Olamide’s sixth studio album, The Glory. I think it is safe to say the wicked producer would come up with a couple of hits- it has become a yearly rite.
Fast-rising producer, P Loops, blew us away early in 2016, January precisely, with his delivery of the instrumentation to Emergency, somewhat comeback jam for popularly known as D’banj. While that was still buzzing the airwaves, he came through with Rayce’s groovy hit, Wetin Dey.
