In a move to expand and strengthen newly founded record label, Davido Music Worldwide which is also a partner to HKN Music, Davido, two months ago, singed Dremo and Mayorkun. Dremo released ‘Fela’ in which he paid tribute to the Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Despite being inspired by Fela, he paid the tribute in a heavy Hip-Hop tune that got everybody wondering who the super-talented budding rap artiste was. StarBoy Worldwide act L.A.X, recently released a banging Hip-Hop tune ‘Oje’ ft Dremo and Ycee. If not for Dremo and Ycee, the song would have ended up a total garbage. Dremo nailed it.
One great skill of the rapper is his ability- like Vector, Olamide and Reminisce- to do Hip-Hop excellently in a blend of English, Pidgin English and Yoruba language. He also displayed multi-skills in recently-released DMW’s ‘Back to Back’ ft Davido, Mayorkun, Dremo and Ichaba. ‘Back to Back’ is a nice Afro-Hip Hop tune where Dremo showed off his versatility as a rapper and a singer.
With the fire that burns in him, his lyrical ingenuity and success within a short time, Dremo will not only be nominated in the ‘Rookie of the Year’ category at the 2016 Headies Awards- he may emerge winner in the category.
