Few days ago Orezi released the visual for a song off The Ghen Ghen Albumtitled ‘Double Your Hustle’. The video was shot by Paul Gambit.
‘Double Your Hustle’, is an inspirational ‘hustler’s anthem’ with two clear messages: Work harder; hardwork pays. The video started well with a scene of a frustrated wife leaving because of the financial hardship she had experienced in her husband’s house. This is a reflection of Orezi’s words: ‘Baby ta ni ko fewa to sope no’. Every other shot outside that scene was a mess.
The video is characterized bypoorly-lit shots and poor directing. One wonders why there were cameo appearances from almost all the male artistes in the music industry yet none from Psquare, 2face, D’banj and Don Jazzy whom he acknowledged their hardwork and success in the industry. Since none could appear, the appearances should have been kept simple with the appearance of Kiddominant and one or two artistes who really ‘hustled’ to the top like Olamide or Timaya. Videos are intended to push songs to a more acceptable level. The video fails to do that. Paul Gambit and Orezi have worked together in the past and did fairly well in Shuperu Remix and Ogede. Gambit got it wrong here.
